Account manager

CEW Communications is a European-based communications agency that partners with Seed through to Series C businesses and the companies that support them, regularly working with venture capital firms and accelerators.

We’re a diverse team of tech enthusiasts, PR specialists, writers, journalists, social media experts and content creators. Our expertise lie in helping businesses get their message to market during the fast-moving, formative years.

We are currently recruiting an Account Manager to help us drive innovative and highly effective in-country and international client campaigns. You will manage activity on multiple accounts, delivering outstanding results and aiming to exceed client targets. 

We are looking for candidates with experience in ClimateTech, DeepTech, FinTech, and Venture Capital, but are open to other expertise across technology and startups.

Your opportunity:

  • Support CEW’s founder and the senior team on new business development, helping to progress new business proposals and pitching to prospects 

  • Manage and, at times, take a lead role on a range of clients in a variety of tech sectors

  • Ensure a high level of client service, idea generation and creative thinking

  • Work with our Writers Studio to ensure their capabilities are built into everything CEW does

  • Support more junior team members, providing coaching, guidance and being a listening ear 

You will have:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail

  • Problem-solving capabilities gained in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Understanding of the startup mindset. You will bring a level of agility to the role, enabling you to relate to client experiences and challenges

  • Strong relationship-building abilities and experience working in a global context, understanding business from different cultural perspectives

  • A creative mind, always curious and eager to learn

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Acting as an ambassador for attention to detail, time management and meeting deadlines within your team

  • Proofing and editing account documentation drafted by junior team members, such as agendas, contact reports, coverage reports, etc.

  • Drafting a range of often complex written materials, including press releases, blogs, features, and briefing documents

  • Demonstrating solid media relationships and a detailed understanding of journalist specialisms/interests, editorial contact,  publication dates, etc. 

  • Assuming line management duties, supporting more junior members of the team in their development through regular internal meetings and active mentorship

In return, we’ll provide the following:

  • A salary of £36-42K (depending on experience)

  • A hybrid work policy with 2-3 days in our Shoreditch, London office per week

  • 24 days holiday. Our office is also closed over the Christmas period
